The Hindu Bureau    19 April 2023

On Tuesday, a woman from Namilikonda in Kodimial Mandal accused doctors at District Headquarters Hospital of leaving a surgical mop in her abdomen during Caesarean delivery in December 2021. On the same day, a video of her accusations went viral on social media.

In the video, the woman introduced herself as Mrs. Navyasri and recalled the physical and mental ordeal she underwent for over a year due to "medical negligence" of the staff of the Jagtial District Headquarters Hospital.

She claimed to have suffered from continuous stomach discomfort and digestive issues for several months following her C-section. She stated that recently, doctors at a private hospital in Vemulawada found the cloth (surgical mop) in her abdomen during a scan and removed it.

Dr. Ramulu, Superintendent of Jagtial Government Medical College, and General Hospital, stated that a thorough investigation into the charges against the then-medical personnel is underway. He revealed that they would submit the report to the higher authorities on Wednesday.
